BOUNCED CHEQUE!! Mr N A Gibbons from Falmouth.Posted: 01/01/2011
Readers will recall my thank-you item about the Royal Cornwall Fayre on 4th December which to most was a success.

Remember I told you about a couple who arrived late set up their stall had a row then left within one hour.

Their Barclays Bank at Camborne sent the cheque they had paid for the stalls marked PAYMENT STOPPED!

They had bounced the cheque!

More to follow.........

Happy New Year.

Did you sell a chicken box for £1.00 at PAR Car Boot Sale yesterday Thursday 30th October 2014Posted: 01/01/2011

A well known Car Boot Seller known as the guitar man bought a box with a chicken design on the outside. He asked how much the box was and paid the asking price of a pound.
When he got home he opened that box and found several pieces of jewellery that could be worth in excess of £75.00
Apparently a very pretty seller sold this to GUITAR MAN and he feels sure she was not aware of the jewellery in the box so if it was you who sold it then the GUITAR MAN will happily hand the items of jewellery back to the seller. What a lovely gesture lets hope the sellers reads this blog.

This is GUITAR MAN'S email of today;

Bought a small wooden box painted with a chicken at the sale today. Asked a very attractive lady "how much". She said well the box is a pound. I paid here a pound and left putting the box and other items in a bag not looking closer until this evening. In the picture (sorry for poor quality) are 3 rings. One with 5 small diamonds, 1 with a single diamond and the third a gold and silver mix. All have markings on. Next a gold plated locket but on a gold chain and last but not least an enamel broach. I bought the box and I am sure the Lady did not realize that these items were inside. I don't think they are of great quality or value but by rights they are still hers and if she makes herself known she is welcome to them back. Hope others would do the same for me.

Geoff Says! A great gesture of goodwill, thank you.

Cheers ---Guitar Man
Are you missing these.....

Car Boot Sales at TRURO on SUNDAY 12th and 19th December at 1.30pm

The first Car Boot Sale in 2011 at TRURO is SUNDAY January 2nd at 1.30 pm

We are looking at an indoor location in Newquay and contemplating a start date at PORTH more details to follow.

We will most certainly do another Christmas Fayre at the Royal, dates to follow.

Falmouth has not been a successful season for us due to limited space, we have turned away up to 180 sellers which upsets a lot of people.
We are looking at 2 sites in CAMBORNE for a morning Car Boot Sale mid-week.

Read the details on the HOME page about Drive-In Car Boot Sales at WADEBRIDGE staring early January...........

FRIDAY at Falmouth...Lets try again!Posted: 07/12/2010
I had 4 complaints about not holding a Car Boot Sale on Friday cancelled due to the snow covered and very dangerous iced up Car Park.

4 complaints does not make a Boot Sale!

We will hold the Boot Sale this FRIDAY subject to weather and ground conditions.

THANK YOU for WADEBRIDGE!Posted: 05/12/2010
Despite the promised heavy showers the Christmas
Fayre went ahead on the 4th December at 10.00am

Sadly one couple of sellers who arrived late were in a furious mood with each other and decided to pack up and go home. The trouble is that others took it as their cue to go early spoiling it for other sellers.

The day was good for most people I spoke with and some sellers took very good money.

Thank you to all our customers buyers and sellers who supported us on the day.

Thank you.....................Geoff

Yet another FRIDAY off!Posted: 02/12/2010
We have had a rotten season at Falmouth this year what with having less use of the grassed area than any year before and the dreadful state of the grounds and road.

Today I went to see if it would be safe to use for FRIDAYS Car Boot and the grounds are laden with snow and widening potholes.

The Council own this land and should invest by putting right the damage done over several years by their own contractors.

PLEASE in the interest of Public Safety and the Falmouth Community.
