Dear Geoff and Lou,
I’ve just read the three blogs about Mitchellgate which explained the confusion we experienced at today’s car boot!
I’m still shaking my head with disbelief at the way you have been treated by the Looney landlord at Mitchell and just wanted to let you know how much we value the business that you run and the way in which you run things.
We arrived today to be waved into the old field but knew it wasn’t right and stopped to ask the strangers on the roundabout what was going on. They told us they were taking a gamble to run an alternative event. We told them we were loyal to Car Boots Cornwall and drove back out to find the new site.
I had a couple of buyers later in the afternoon who complained they had wasted time by parking in the old field before working out ‘things’ weren’t right, but would know for next time!
We had a brilliant start to our selling season today.
Thank you also for helping us position our van which tends to slide on even a gentle slope at the start of the sale. ( there’s VW T5’s for you!) I hope it didn’t piss anyone off by our queue jumping!
We do about one car boot a month at Mitchell or Mabe and love the community. We also get a lovely holiday each year from the proceeds of our car boot sales.
So me dears….I wish you every success in the new site at Mitchell. It won’t take long for word to get out and I would recommend a night time raid to saw down the misleading sign on the roundabout that uses your logo inappropriately (WTF?!)
We also appreciated the (almost) lack of dogs today. Just two little ones got pulled around. We leave ours at home. He gets too hot/too cold/too bored. Most owners who come as buyers are oblivious to the inbuilt habits of male dogs cocking their legs over my stock, which drives me into shouting fish wife mode!
We look forward to coming back next month and continuing selling with Car Boots Cornwall.
Keep up the good work!
Wishing you a very Happy Easter!
With kindest regards
Jane and Viv
