Message: With my wife due in December we decided to have a clear out and sell some items to make room for the mass amounts of baby kit needed very soon. So we pitched up at the Mitchell car boot on sat 22nd sept. which I must say was extremely well organised and a great boot to be part of. During the afternoon my wife noticed the pitch next door had amongst other things lots of children’s books for sale. Katie had a look and picked up 5 books for a pound (bargain). The seller asked about the bump and if it was our first etc etc. A small time later he came to our stand and offered to Katie if there are any other books she would like she can have them for free. This was an extremely kind gesture and I would like to pass on my sincere thank you to the kind seller that day whose generosity really is a welcome break from the norm. CBC should be proud that it hosts well organised events and amongst the bargain hunters and money makers generosity and kindness prevail. Many thanks, Paul 30 Newquay.

Friday at Falmouth Rugby Club!

Probably the worst grounds to hold a Car Boot Sale and complaints galore ‘why cant we be on the grass?’ The answer lies with the club’s groundsman who is under the impression we would ruin the hallowed turf, sellers will remember the early years when we were allowed weekly to use the grassed areas and did no harm to the grounds! Times and Committee’s change but the decline in our business at Falmouth speaks volumes with sellers preferring to go to our other locations!

Picture 1. Willy Slippers! ‘The amount of people who have picked them up had a good laugh then put them down again’ said the seller so I bought them for £1.00 as a Christmas pressie for Marge!
Picture 2. This is Pink Lizzie one of Cornwall Characters we have known for years she bought this Henry Hoover for the bargain price of £20.00 in great working condition. She said ‘I am the happiest person at the car boot today take my picture ‘I now have a HENRY of my own’ Whatever turns you on dear!
Lots of people criticise women who die their hair in brilliant colours but I think most look good and anyway ‘why not its a way of expressing ones self and nobody else’s business’ If only I had hair!!

Good day at Newquay yesterday with slighly fewer buyers and sellers but still they reported good sales one stall SELLING EVERYTHING and going home one hour later £270.00 the richer. Sorry only one picture of Marge the fee was too high but she did buy a nice gold bracelet for Basil’s ankle to compliment the toe ring she says, actually she is going to make a nice little profit when she sells it on, you can see her stall at the Hall for Cornwall fleamarkets held weekly. Such a shame they cannot sell inside this venue like the old days lets start a petition, get the pens out Marge & Tony & Janet & Mo & Rita & Brynne & Ann & Posh Anne and the rest of you sellers I bet I could pack it to capacity in no time!

We are looking at MONKEY TREE Holiday Park for a winter location where we would use the well maintained caravan park for our Car Boot Sales. This is a well presented holiday complex with great facilities and an excellent Cabaret Bar featuring local talents including the lovely Sarah Devonshire who does brilliant impersonations including Madonna & Lady Ga Ga.
Let us have your opinions please?

Saturday-A phone call!

Our telephone is in constant use all day long with enquiries about our Car Boot Sales in fact most of the time the answerphone message gives all the information needed. On Saturday morning I received a phone call from a man who asked if he could sell at The Royal Cornwall Car Boot Sale and pay at the end as he had no money for the electricity and was absolutely broke! My reply “I do not deal with that side of our business you would have to ask Lou that sort of question”
Lou and I have a deal she deal with the monies and I do all the rest so I told her about the phone call she said ‘leave it with me’ The Royal is a great Car Boot Sale all over in 2 hours (bit like sex really-according to Marge) with two old farts from the Rotary Club helping so we make a generous weekly donation to their well organised charity.
Another phone call from the ‘broke man’ asking directions I duly parked all the sellers noting a very smart SUBARU IMPREZZA revving noisily and showing off as I parked him and his lady both smoking to their selling space
The sale commenced with about 58 stalls. An hour later Lou and I chatted how things had gone and I asked ‘Oh by the way what did you do about the bloke who wanted to pay after he had sold some of his stuff” Lou pointed to where the man and his lady were and yes it was the SUBARU!
Over to Lou in her owns words “Yes that’s them they have sold quite a bit of stuff and she was buying from another stall so I will go and get the rent” pause!
Geoff Says ‘They dont seem to have anything to sell from what I can see’ Lou Says “Nope it loooks like they are packed up and going without paying” and with more loud revving the car was at the main gates in seconds! Gone!
Geoff Says, “Good decision Lou-conned again”
So I made Lou pay the six quids for making mistake of trusting too much which is not expected from our JUNIOR management team!!
Hah!

She is the love of my life.
Well, perhaps that is overstating the truth but I do like her….ish!

Our Landlords do not allow any rubbish to be left on their grounds it is unfair to the lands and animals that take over our Car Boot sites in the winter. Please DO NOT leave disposable nappies or dog poo bags in the hedges take them home with you because you brought them with you! ‘Oh yes you did it was IN the dog and IN the baby when you arrived, take it home with you, no shit!

Thank you to all of our regulars who clean up their selling areas before leaving which shows good breeding the ones that leave the rubbish are a breeding pain in the bum Mother!

This lovely bronze statue was on sale at Newquay Car Boot Sale two weeks ago the seller originally asked for two hundred pounds. At the end of the day one of our team said ‘did you see the bronze women is still for sale’ daring me to buy it without consulting Lou! No worries the seller almost cried when he sold it to me for seventy pounds he said ‘she has been in my life for three years and I am going to bloody miss her, I gave her-her last bath yesterday. You what! Anyway my two models Kelly and Dave helped load her in the car as I took her home to ‘meet the wife’ I put her in my office and told Lou I wanted to introduce her to my ‘new friend’ she stood besides the bust and said “My figure is better than hers” should have gone to specsavers I though but safer to keep my gob shut. I am going to keep the model for a while because it is so nice to have another woman in ‘my place’ that does’nt talk all the time but it did frighten the life out of me when I had forgotten her prescence and ended up on the floor with her, well that’s my excuse anyway! Marge saw it on display was was too busy looking to buy boyfriend Basil a ‘pinky toe ring’ I dont know what is going on in her mind lately no wonder Rachel escorts her everywhere. I have heard on the grapevine the couple met during her Miss Whiplash days, enough said! Guess who is moving (down-sizing) and all the neighbours are breathing a sigh of relief! Posh Ann of course! Love you X If you want any cheap lamintating doing see Lady Lynn and the service is fantastic…X

Was a little saddened you’ve had problems at Mitchell with Geoff.

I do wade bridge and there is no problem at all. The atmosphere is great and everyone seems to get
On very well.

Geoff and Louise and their team run these boots exceptionally well. Believe me, you should try some
Other counties to see how badly they are run.

Geoff will not take any abusive language from you, me or anyone

Hello
You are a love and thank you for your timely email to this man who genuinely thought ‘I know Geoff therefore I do not need to take any notice of any of his staff and can park where I want’ Wrong! Kelly has been in our organisation for over 10 years and is an absolute sweetheart and a great help especially when we have only 10 minutes to park almost 250 sellers.

Wadebridge is a touch of class amongst Car Boot venues they are great sellers offering BARGAINS galore and it is so pleasant dealing with well mannered locals and their tourists, whilst we do not get fantastic business we deem it as a great honour being involved with the Royal Cornwall Showground and their excellent management team.

You must come to Mitchell one day the buying has been fantastic all season we rarely have any problems, I am delighted with the aerial view of last weeks event as shown on our HOME page featuring the CAR BOOT COMMUNITY.

Hopefully see you soon.

Kindest regards,

Geoff

One extremely observant lucky buyer looked through pictures on sale at one of the stalls and found this water colour by Irish Artist Maurice Canning Wilts (Royal Ulster Acedemy) 1910-1984 and bought it for the asking BARGAIN price of only £1.00
If you go to David Lays Auctions you will be expected to pay between £400.00 and £600.00 for this very popular artist whose oils sell for thousands of pounds.
Good luck to the seller ‘a very nice man’ and I will let you know the result.

Here we have a very happy buyer who arrived at MABE specifically looking for paint for his house, he bought these 6 tins (4 unopened) for the BARGAIN price of 6 quid! We worked it out that if he had gone to TRAGO it would have cost over £50.00 to buy the same quantity!
Sorry forgot his name but he hasn’t! Its PAUL!
