Its the COMMUNITY stupid!

Great Newquay Car Boot yesterday whilst the BBC decided to ‘dish the dirt’ about me and CARBOOTSCORNWALL during the lunchtime airing of an alleged chat show where the part-time ‘I am a journalist’ discussed what he had seen at Mitchell last Saturday when a car owner had left a dog with adequate ventilation in his/her car.
What this man wanted was for me to get the emergency services Police, Fire and RSPCA to come to release the dog from the car. This was a complete over-reaction to the situation and I refused telling the man not to interfere with my business and to go away.

I refused to reply to his JUNK mail accompanied by virus warnings offering me to talk on his slot about the dog ‘story’ for I was too busy to take part in such stupidity! I had ‘shot his fox’ No story!
Now I am not going to be rude about his assumed listening public but TWO of them wrote emails also accompanied by virus threats to protest about my attitude. Back into the real world ‘the COMMUNITY’
I and my team ran the Circus Fields Car Boot where over 3800 attended this COMMUNITY event in with lots families holidaymakers locals and tourists enjoying a place in the sun and not listening to some boring old FART who obviously likes his own voice sitting in some stuffy studio waffling on about ‘how I nearly came to the rescue of a dog’ and trying to discredit my business and my companies reputation!
Dogs are NOT my number one priority at my Car Boot Sales ITS THE COMMUNITY STUPID!!

Bottom line; 3800 at my Car Boot but how many listeners in the lovely hot sunshine tuned in! Well there was at least two! Get a life and stop wasting the licence payers money chasing non-stories and where was this ‘I am a journalist’ when we had to deal with two acts of domestic violence against kids! BLOW UP YOUR Pants!

Message: Well done you 2. Wish I was there. Unfortunately Fell over loading up for last sat’s gig at wade bridge. Just a bit worried……know your allegiance is with The community , but remember people in this part of The world do depend on their pets for comfort and Love. Just about to kill one of my outlets..Regards

Thank you Sue for your email in support of the COMMUNITY of which dogs play an important part in peoples lives however this man went completely over the top trying to interfere with something which was under control and none of his business.
I know how people love their pets some are even nutty enough to take them to bed. A long time ago I asked Marge to look for a girl friend for our David and her advice was ‘Tell him to get a dog best friend ever’ how callous.

Lets get our priorities right and deal with the Community first of which you and all of our crowd are members of and who attend our COMMUNITY Car Boot Sales I am proud of all of you!
Get well soon my lover we have missed your money and for the record I have a very soft spot for our dog NANA MOON right at the bottom of the garden!
Love you all,

Geoff

MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS BBC!

In all of my working life I have been in the people business providing entertainment and leisure facilities for countless millions throughout this Country. From The Fairfield Halls in Croydon to BUTLINS at filey and Skegness and General Manager of PONTINS in Somerset and in 1989 I created CARBOOTSCORNWALL which today has 9 Car Boot Sales and over 350,000 visits each year to our locations. Louise does not share my ambition and drive to make our business into a bigger group and would be happier with only 4 weekly events. She says ‘You are the Boss’ and together we have built your favourite COMMUNITY Car Boot Sales widely spoken of in the entire South West. All of the business decisions regarding how we operate our event are entirely at my discretion, my great teams happily work with me to provide a safe Environment for our Community Car Boot Sales and for all of our visitors. The buck stops with me!

On Saturday at Mitchell there was an incident concerning a dog in a car when an off duty part-time BBC ‘I am a journalist’ decided to poke his nose into the matter which had been reported to me earlier. Despite telling this man I would not call the emergency services because by the time they came the dog and driver would have GONE! Later With only 15 vehicles left in the field a RSPCA Inspector arrived! Dog & driver gone! The following morning at 8.30 am I receive phone call from the journalist saying he had sent me an email. I refused to discuss the matter. The email arrived in my junk mail with a virus warning so I returned it with a ‘do not contact me again’!
I am the BOSS and I make my own decisions at each Car Boot Sale and I do not need any journalist from the BBC poking his nose into any decisions I make in the day to day running of the most successful COMMUNITY EVENTS in the South West CARBOOTSCORNWALL!
M Y O B!

A couple who evaded tax on more than £250,000 they made trading at car-boot sales has been jailed.
Gail Fox and Ronald Donkin made a fortune selling slimming pills, toothbrush heads and electrics at fetes and fairs, as well as on the internet.
The pair, from Sunderland, pocketed £260,000 between 2003 and 2010 but did not declare their earnings to the taxman. Fox made an extra £90,000 selling property on eBay. They both admitted the charges.
Jailed: Tax cheats Ronald Donkin and Gail Fox who made a fortune at car boots sales.

Fox, 47, admitted her dishonesty amounted to cheating the Inland Revenue out of almost £50,000. She also admitted a charge of mortgage fraud in relation to her giving false information while securing a loan to buy a council house. Newcastle Crown Court heard that when the couple were arrested, Fox had £90,000 in savings in bank accounts and Donkin had £180,000.
Their assets have now been frozen while prosecutors investigate them under the Proceeds of Crime Act with the aim of seizing whatever cash or property they have.
Judge James Goss QC jailed Fox for 12 months and Donkin for nine months. ahttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article

Great day with loads of incidents 3 lost mobiles two returned to the owners however I fear the IPOD will not be handed in to either ourselves or the police.
One very lost little boy of 3 years found by Geoff just going out of the main gate he had walked from the top of the field and mother had not missed him.
One careless seller leaving early drove his car over someone else’s stall but he did have the goodwill to pay for the damaged stock.
Lots of COMMUNITY spirit at MABE and some great BARGAINS!
Oh and by the way 2 complaints about dog poo!

BARGAIN books at TRURO

Two books about life in Cornwall in the 19th Century were sold yesterday at our Car Boot Sale for the bargain price of 50p each.
Without doubt these most collectable books bought by an ‘eagle-eyed’ buyer will fetch at least £100.00 for the two!

It’s your DUTY!

It’s your duty to live forever; so far you are not doing bad but some of you lazy sods need exercise to fulfil that demand.

FACT! If you come to the Mitchell and MABE Car Boot Sales this weekend and look at all of the stalls you will have walked nearly 3 miles and the exercise will prolong your life and probably make you are happier person and nicer person to live with, and because of the fresh Cornish open country locations at MABE and TRURO, come along! What a BARGAIN for a quid! Or are you just gonna lay on the settee!! Come on GRAND-MA! Meet Marge, she goes out for the exercise every day and at the end of the week she is knackered!

Two lucky buyers bought well yesterday at Newquay..The buyer of the HUNTSWOMAN is a collector of BESWICK and could not believe his luck at buying this bargain for only £15.00…Another holiday-maker takes our riches from Cornwall never to be seen again! Fine weather friends but a good friend of CBC-ish!

Item number 2 is the beautiful all jointed STEIFF gold Teddy Bear cost only ONE POUND at a quick check you would have to pay a minimum of £120.00

A woman lost her Car Keys (it happens all the time) was FRANTIC would not listen to reasoning eventually she calmed down to listen to Lou and Geoff telling her they are probably in your car!
Guess what, mother had them, where was mother?
sitting in the CAR-silly Moo’s!

Bugger OFF-part 2

Wadebridge-Summer 2010

Great day with over 80 sellers at this fabulous location the buyers await the horn at 5.00 pm and BARGAINS are absolutely guaranteed at the Royal Cornwall Showground for this weekly event. The Wadebridge Rotary Club used to run these sales until we took over 8 years ago when we agreed a substantial donation to the charity and a weekly donation each time we operate the sales.
The sale was well under way when I noticed a man dressed in all black who stood out from the crowd so asked him ‘Can I help you’. He told me he was a Bailiff and was waiting till the end of the Car Boot to take a woman’s vehicle away adding “I have been to the ladies house and phoned her without response so her neighbour told me she was here”
‘So what has that got to do with Car Boots, the lady has paid me for a service to provide her the facilities to sell some of her items here, you are not allowed to approach her with a view to taking her vehicle away whilst she like the rest of the sellers are in my care’ He then tried to show me documents which were of no concern to me, in short I told him to ‘BUGGER OFF’ and leave the woman alone. Waiting in his car was another man who was obviously going to be the driver of the woman’s car, I watched them depart heading in the direction of Truro so I assumed they would be off for the weekend giving my lady customer breathing space!

Now the reason I have told you this story is because another lady customer whom we have known for years, she has traded successfully buying and selling but has not declared her earnings from the Car Boot Sales and eBay to the Inland Revenue, they have caught up with her demanding back taxes going back 5 years figures of ‘thousands of pounds’ have been mentioned needless to say she will not be selling again at our Car Boot Sales for some time! It is in your interest if you are selling on a regular basis to tell the Authorities and declare your incomes because if you don’t ‘they eventually find out’ It is none of our business we would not tell any authorities how often you come to our events, nor would they ask but we do know they visit all Car Boot Sales to collect information about the absolute minority of our customers.

Back to my lady at Wadebridge, I wanted to tell her about the Bailiff but it was none of my business similarly he had NO RIGHTS to come onto private land at a private business event to discuss her private affairs with me nor serve documents and to take my customers car away! Bugger Off!

Bottom line; my lady came back to Wadebridge several weeks later!

SAME CAR!

Geoff
