St JAMES-Newcastle

St James forever!
In 1968 my company opened up a fantastic Entertainment complex in Newcastle upon Tyne comprising of a Bingo Hall, 4 Cinemas, Discotheque and a HOFBROHAUS Bier Keller with 1000 capacity.
I decided to open lunchtimes presenting good food and drink and a live STRIPTEASE show which was a stunning success filling to capacity 5 days a week.
The Saturday afternoon matches at St James Park home of NEWCASTLE UNITED started at 3.00 but the fans queued early at Hoffs to get a ring side seat for the ‘STRIP SHOW’

Bottles and cases galore were sold of the famous Newcastle Brown Ale as the fans had their drink and a bite and saw the show!

At 2.00pm they left the Hofbrau and began the pilgrimage to the Gallogate end of St James Park chanting NEWCASTLE-United and in full voice to cheer on ‘HOWAY the LADS’ our team. They were good days the shows full of fun and the loyalty to their team of those thousands of fans was incredible. We never had any trouble or fights, only one joint cause for the ‘toon’to win at St James on the day.
The jokes between some of the strippers (exotic dancers) and the Geordie crowd were legendary but what an atmosphere!

I am proud to have supported the team over the years since the Malcolm Mc Donald & Kevin Keegan days. Cup success is not going to happen at Newcastle unless multi millions are invested into the club so what is the reason for the name change?
It’s been St James forever to me and multi- thousands more of the most dedicated fans in the world!
Do not change it or accept a change!
ST JAMES FOREVER!
Howay the lads!
