Some people amongst the tens of thousands customers stick out like a sore thumb and in the case of Rob or Rod Harrison who introduced himself as an ex-copper with his offer ‘if you need any help at any time just look for me’ which I rejected saying I would have no reason to accept his offer because we never have problems at our Car Boots they are trouble free COMMUNITY occasions!

Next time I saw him at Newquay Car Boot was when he came to say ‘You was not doing your job properly there is someone selling wine on their stall it’s against the law and your rules’
I walked to the lady seller who had ONE bottle of wine which she did not want, she offered to take it off her stall if it caused any problem!
We are policed by TRADING STANDARDS and the ‘real’ police and like them I used discretion and allowed the lady to sell the bottle for £3.00 to the next stallholder on this one occasion.

The following week Mr SMART-ARSE came to me with a bottle of wine ‘look what I have just bought’in an attitude that he was ‘tittle-tattling’ against my sellers!
It is not a good thing to print private thought but names rhyming with BANKER did come to mind.

An on duty policeman came on site to see one of our customers and whilst he was talking to me HARRISON came up and said ‘I used to be in the force if you need any help’ The PC and myself could not understand his nosey intervention!

At TRURO CATTLE MARKET the crowds flock to the Sunday Car Boot Sale and amongst the 800 odd cars I found it necessary to accuse Harrison of unreasonable driving as he revved his car up in a crowded area driving aimlessly against the flow of traffic!
It was ‘my opinion’ not his, I was in charge of the situation and as he sped past me with a few ill-chosen words so I advised him ‘don’t bother coming back’

The following week he was back excusing himself over the incident.

DAIRYLAND September 2011-11-23

Two years ago Dairyland had asked CARBOOTSCORNWALL to consider running Car Boot Sales in the winter however I refused because I considered the volume of traffic involved with our sales was too heavy on the very fast busy main road.
Many of our customers will remember GERALD who used to park for us he had a terrible accident almost outside Dairyland which contributed to his death alongside his other illnesses.
In the interest of public safety WE SAID NO! There are double white lines within yards of the entrance which was evidence enough that the site is not suitable for heavy Car Boot Traffic as well as being the main road in to Newquay.

I was given a leaflet at our Boot Sale Newquay Tretherras School which was distributed (taboo) about Duchy Car Boot Sales at DAIRYLAND and I was told HARRISON was running the sales.

I approached him and he said ‘nothing to do with me, it’s not me’ He then said “I have put in a good word for you at BOARDMASTERS you should run it” I told him I was in negotiations with BOARDMASTERS in any event!

At my next meeting with BOARDMASTERS I faced a barrage of questions as to my suitability as HARRISON had applied for himself and had told lies about CARBOOTSCORNWALL in order to further his application!

I am delighted to advise that agreement has been reached for CARBOOTSCORNWALL to operate our Car Boot Sales at BOARDMASTERS prestigious WATERGATE BAY location!

Several loyal customers complained to me that HARRISON whilst promoting Duchy was ‘bad-mouthing’ Louise and I telling them that we had fiddled hundreds of pounds from our Landlords and he was taking over some of the Sales owned by CARBOOTSCORNWALL!!

One of my most loyal team members was so upset about the accusations she went to see ‘motor-mouth’ and he denied emphatically it was him saying ‘you bring them to me’!
We know he has been to some of our Landlords telling lies to advance his applications to take over our business.

“CARBOOTSCORNWALL is owned entirely by Geoff & Louise Camden Wiles our Landlords do not have any legal rights to dispose of our business-nor do they want”!

We do not mind any opposition but I do resent you trying to dismantle the business that G & L have built over 22 years by your blatant loudmouthed lies!

You claimed to my Landlords that your first 3 Car Boot Sales at Dairyland were a total success and that you had sold nay pre-booked over 100 stall for the first two which as you know Mr LIAR the first two were RAINED off and the third only 4 sellers turned up!! Pre-booking a Car Boot Sale is next door to sheer lunacy and an impossible task!

You do not own a Car Boot Sale in SOMERSET! You do not supply 90 ‘BOUNCERS’ to Newquay night clubs! And I doubt if you are an ex-copper!

What has a ‘nicked’ picture of a CAR BOOT SALE in Hertfordshire as shown on your publicity got to do with the DUCHY of Cornwall or are you trying to convince the crowd picture is of DAIRYLAND! More like fairyland or dreamland or even ‘cloud cuckoo land’

We have absolutely no reason to fiddle our Landlords-we have built up a solid business for a lot of people who rely on the money they earn from out Car Boot Sales and I am sure they will join me with all the 340,000 annual visits to our Car Boot Sales in protecting the reputation of the COMMUNITY CAR BOOT SALES-CARBOOTSCORNWALL established since 1989

You and your friend the ‘ARTFUL DODGER’ have tried to discredit our good name and damage our reputation you are both BARRED from all of Car Boots Cornwall 10 locations!
