Come on lets admit it we all have a nasty side to our personalities and one of them it to ‘never admit you are in the wrong’

You know the sort of thing when you will not give in when you are clearly in the wrong!
Its a womans world! they are right! say sorry lads.

Just put your arm around them and say ‘Sorry Darling I was wrong and you are right’ and I still love you!!

Go on go on!

I AM SORRY!!!

There you are EASY!

Then, take her out for a meal buy, buy her some flowers, say nice things to her, take her to bed and then FALL ASLEEP!! Hah!

Sorry,

Geoff

Sorry!

I apologise for wiping out the story about the ridiculous situation two of our regular customers got themselves into through gambling on BINGO!

From a happy carefree life to spending £200.00 a week on BINGO and their whole world falling apart when the wife had to confess to her husband all the debt she had fallen into.

During my 20 year in the Bingo & Social Club business there were no happy stories about people winning fortunes but it was harmless fun to have a gamble meet some nice people and enjoy the social side of the clubs.

The truth about BINGO is that it is a MUGS game to go more than once in a while. I have seen such unhappiness caused by the destruction of families in the North East through gambling so much in my Bingo Halls.

And now we have the repeated adverts on TV inviting you to take part in TV BINGO luring you into the trap of spending money you cannot afford. DONT GO THERE!

This afternoon at Falmouth Rugby Club I was told of another relationship heading for the rocks every penny he earns he spends at the betting office and she is having to sell her car to pay off the debts!!
PLEASE GIVE UP GAMBLING IT AMOUNTS TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

If you know someone in this type of situation try to help them, things are going to get worse for everyone very soon and you will need every penny you want!

ps; I do have a bet on the lottery now and again which makes me a two-faced bugger!

Gossip! Marge is going away.

Someone overheard Marge tell me that she is going away and made a catty remark that it only takes a week to have a chin tuck. That is so rude to the QM of the car boots!

Talking about chin tucks the last time I sat opposite my mother in law she has so many chins I thought she was staring at me over a pile of crumpets!

Have a good time Marge, missing you already x

SHAME ON YOU TRAGO MILLS!!

Several years ago Trago Mills tried to have the Car Boot Sales at Falmouth Rugby Club cancelled because they claimed we would be bad for the Environment!
Practice what you preach Trago!

Geoff

Trago Mills fined £200,000 for Devon and Cornwall waste dump The Environment Agency said several thousand tonnes of waste was dumped.

A discount department store chain has been ordered to pay almost £200,000 for illegally dumping and burning waste at two of its sites in Devon and Cornwall.

Waste, including asbestos, was tipped and disposed of at Trago Mills sites near Newton Abbot in Devon and Liskeard in Cornwall, Torquay magistrates heard.

Trago Mills (South Devon) Ltd and Charles Robertson (Developments) Ltd admitted five offences.

The Environment Agency brought the case after waste was first found in 2009.

It was fined a total of £185,000 for the five breaches of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

It was also ordered to pay £14,558 costs and a £30 victim surcharge, totalling £199,588.

The agency said the amount of dumped waste was believed to be “several thousand tonnes”.

It said the company had since co-operated with the agency in order to remove the waste.

Most regulars will know that soon at Newquay Circus Fields the land will be sold for developement and that we will have to find another site to operate our twice weekly Car Boot Sales. We have been in consultation with the planning department and advised all concerned of our petition to the Cornwall Council to take into consideration our need for an alternative site for our 100,000 per year visits to this site from locals and Newquay tourists. We ask you please to all get behind this campaign and sign the petition form, we accept the Landlord wants to sell his land but we do have planning permission revised in 2004 and we want assistance in relocating! I am asking you to take and bring back a signature form for 25 persons to sign (your friends) and support this petition before the COMMUNITY CAR BOOT SALES are homeless! Come on Marg, Rita, Anne, Pat, Annie, John, Steve, Scottish Jimmy and the rest of you! Get signing up please! One man refused to sign the petition when asked why he said ‘because I dont want my wife to keep coming to the boot sales the only reason she brings me is to carry all the stuff she buys’ Women rule! Oh Yay! Geoff & Lou

Our GYPSY confrontations!

Way back in 1997 in the early days at MABE every SUNDAY we would receive complaints from sellers about the brash attitudes and stealing from stalls by the local Gypsy community and we had to be very careful how we dealt with the situation.

Landlord Mr D said he would ‘throw the lot out’ but my attitude was there were approximately 40 of the community and to upset them would have an adverse affect on our Car Boot Sales.

True enough we did catch the kids stealing one day a seller came to Louise and said a kids bike had been stolen from her stall and a few minutes later sure enough a lad of 8 walked out to the car park followed by Lou as he loaded the bike into a white van.

Louise opened the door and collected the bike and took it back to the stall holder who was delighted!
Not content with that Lou stopped the father of the lad and confronted him with ‘your son stole a bike and I have taken it out of the van’!

There followed the worst nose to nose confrontation Lou has suffered where the father shouted and spat into her face whilst the kid egged him on by chanting to Louise ‘you stink lady-you smell’

I arrived on the scene where a crowd was gathering watching the showdown and I could see that neither Lou or Daddy was going to give way.
I walked between the two and sent them in different directions which Lou was reluctant to accept but the incident was over and probably saved some bloodshed-MINE!

Next we had a Bouncy Castle which insisted that any kids going on the castle had to ‘take your shoes off’
Two bright spark Gypsy lads brought bin liners and stole 11 various pairs of kids shoes while the owners ‘bounced away’

However, my crowd of Gypsies a few years ago became reborn christians and they have changed in so many ways they are a pleasure to have at our sales. They are still brash and outspoken and assertive but dont forget they spend a lot of money at the Car Boots.

To bond a friendship they asked me to go to a special birthday party at a HOTEL for one of the elders when ‘everyone would be there’

I agreed to go but at the last minute made an excuse not to attend and was pleased with my decision when days alter one of the sons said ‘hey mister you missed a great party and it was brilliant when the fights started but even better when the women fights began there was blood everywhere and the hotel was wrecked Mister!

What a success we had with MABEFEST considering it took 4 months from the start to organise but we did have a fantastic team.

We are planning MABEFEST 2012 as possibly a 2 day event over the weekend 25th to 27th August 2012 with camping available for a one night stay over.

Book the dates for a great fun weekend.

Marge has got her name down already, Ann fell asleep during the entire performance (a usual occurence) and Got any jewellery arrived following a makeover no one recognised him!!

Be there for 2012

VERY SAD NEWS!

Most of our regulars will know Peter Langford who for year has sold plants and vegetables at Falmouth Rugby Club.

Sadly after a short illness Peter has died and our condolences go to the family of Peter at this difficult time.

Peter has spent many years serving his customers in the Carnon Downs area when he used to do his rounds selling fresh produce from his own farm.

All of our customers buyers and sellers have enjoyed having Peter around at the Car Boot Sales at Truro, Falmouth and Carn Brea and he will be sadly missed.

This photograph was taken by one of his customers of many years Dorothy.

Peter’s dog CANDY is looking for a new home she is a Jack Russell and she needs a good home where her new owner would need to understand that Peter and Candy were devoted to each other over the past 6 years.

Peter will be missed by all-a thoroughly nice man and a GENTLEMAN.

Geoff

Update on Candy is that she has been found a new home in the family and she has settled in just fine!

I realized how serious one customer thought the situation was when she phoned me at 7.30 am to say ‘Candy still doesnt have a new home’
Well she does now you ‘busy body’ go back to bed!!

Peter would definately find that funny!!
