UNLUCKY the horse with its 4 broken legs in splints is to make a guest appearance on Sunday at MABE due to demand from Posh Anne, Ann and others.

Most of our customers know we have made UNLUCKY famous but now we find its going to cost 6 bloody grand to fix the legs!

COLLECTION!

Dustbins will be left our for your small change for this animals future welfare! Laughing and crying tissues will be avaialbe. Please donate!

If we raise enough money I am booking UNLUCKY for a personal appearance at MABEFEST with posh Ann.

Keep farmer MILES away with his sledgehammer!

Dear Marge,
Where are you?

If you look at the animals face it would still look just as miserable after spending the 6 grand!

You heard it here first and now UNLUCKY makes it into the headlines. The West Briton printed the story on its FRONT PAGE yesterday and today the tabloid we all love to hate The Sun recounted the story of this horse and its 4 broken legs!
Bet it doesnt make The News of the World? Hah!
(Hugh Grant for PM) Wonder what would be the first thing he would legalise?

Back to UNLUCKY. We have had so many enquiries asking about the welfare of this dreaded ‘horse in a shoe-box’ and I can add one lady wanted to ‘sort out’ farmer Miles and his sledge-hammer idea.

If it survives I will present it on stage at our MABEFEST on August 29th as a special guest appearance.

Now then, this is what I dont understand, a little baby was taken away by Air Ambulance from our Newquay Car Boot Sale last week, she was seriously ill.

We had about 15 enquiries about UNLUCKY the dopey horse and only 3 about the baby!

By the way fair play to FLORA who was the first to break this story at MABE 3 weeks ago.
Well done young lady its nice to be right once in a while isnt it dear!

Thank God Andy Murray didnt get through to the final otherwise our buyers and sellers crowd would be down because of the final. Next year perhaps.

Nice picture of the crowd at MABE on a great day GREAT BARGAINS and nice people all happy in our Car Boot Community and NO complaints!
(they are a rough lot some of them that gets to Mitchell)

The farmer wants to know if the man at the front of this picture is eating the GATE to get in!! Gotcha!

Remember I told you about young FLORA complaining about a horse in a shoe-box which was borne out by several complaints and confirmation that a horse was being kept in a dog-box according to some customers the horse was in some distress. On Saturday morning we were told that the horse was at TRURO Cattle Market and the people looking after the animal were asking if they could bring it to MITCHELL in the afternoon to raise funds. I asked to see the ‘horse’ which was a miniature horse or even pony about 16″ tall it was lying in a bed in the back of an estate car. For the benefit of all I will call the animal unlucky. Unlucky was born premature with jelly front legs and very weak back legs all four legs were in splints and bandaging. The carers were wanting to raise money to pay for the vet to carry out treatment. After checking on Unlucky’s welfare I gave permission for the carers to bring the animal to MITCHELL insisting on milk, water, bedding and fresh air to be available at all times. A local farmer Miles was overheard ‘best thing for that is a sledge-hammer’ which was a callous thing to say but it did reduce me to tears of laughter however I was pleased Miles was not overheard by the masses otherwise there could have been riots! Shortly before 4.00 pm the paty and ‘unlucky’ left Mitchell to count up their takings towards the vet bills for remedial treatment. I think their intention was kind but I was left with the impression that the little horse would probably suffer all its life in a deformed state unless you know of a vet who would do the repair work needed for nothing! The lady in charge allowed ‘unlucky’ to wander around much to the pleasure of the kids and Mums, it seemed quite content with its freedom to walk in four splints without a zimmer frame! Out came the cameras and just for FLORA I took a couple of pictures. Bottom line: I think the animal was loved and well cared for under the circumstances but NO Car Boots Cornwall will NOT adopt the animal! Best line was that the horse was 6ft tall until FAT BLOKE got on..bring on the sledgehammer! Amen Geoff x ps; I told this story to posh Ann and she started crying…..with laughter…some people are so heartless.

Good Car Boot Sale with lots of sellers and buyers when a man tells me that his neighbour seller has a baby that has become very ill and that an ambulance had been called.

I went to the Car to see a young baby being cared for by her mother awaiting the ambulance, the baby was in serious distress and had been vomiting badly and the call out was totally justified.

The paramedic Doctor came to advise me that the baby was very ill and she had asked for Air Ambulance so we alerted out team to be on standby to clear the landing area.

Babies mother came to tell me she had put all her selling things into the car and would come back the following daty to collect.

The Air Ambulance arrived and within 20 minutes departed with baby to Treliske Hospital……..

RECORD CROWDS at MITCHELL

Huge crowds at Mitchell in glorious sunshine and we got two rows of cars wrong affecting 9 cars in all which restricted selling spaces.

Two very loud mouthed men Mr Richard & Mr D Head gave their unrequested opinion obviously experts in “piss up in breweries” because they said I couldnt run one!?

No I run CAR BOOTS CORNWALL and me and my team do a bloody good job, occasionally we get it wrong but we give 100% effort to fair play for all.

As it happens I refunded 5 stalls and gave vouchers to others.

Baby Alexis is FINE!

Delighted to tell you that Baby Alexis is fine from her sudden illness at Newquay Car Boot Sale on Thursday.

She was taken by Air Ambulance to Treliske and after tests and medicines Doctors aloud Alexis back home. We were all so relieved to see her at Saturdays Mitchell Car Boot Sale as many of our customers and team worried about the babies future.

Her reaction to me was to cry! Well thats appreciation!

Good story-nice ending Marge!

What a fantastic stall-Part 2

Remember the stall at Truro on Saturday 12th June when I said I had bought a couple of items for 50p each.

One was a limoges egg which sold on eBay for only 99 pence but the other items was picked up by a lady dealer who inspected it and put it down.

It was a bone powder flask and reached £29.50 on eBay.

I very seldom buy but there are BARGAINS I see at every Car Boot Sale and today at Newquay a man bought a necklace for £1.00 its gold and must fetch £300.00

If its your lucky day-its your lucky day!

On Sunday at Mabe we had over 4000 buyers and sellers The Car Boot Sale started at 1.30pm with good weather sunshine at last. About 3.45 young Flora came to complain to me about a horse in a ‘shoe box’ She said there was stall selling Tombola tickets to get money for a horse with 4 broken legs. Louise and others tried to find the stall they had gone. It was confirmed by further phoned complaints that a miniature pony was being kept in a dog box with its legs in splints and in obvious discomfort and distress. I am sorry for the animal and we were unable to report the matter to the RSPCA This amounts to gross stupidity and upset a lot of Mums & their kids. Sorry My first reaction to Flora ‘Horse in shoe box, have you been drinking child’! We do not allow animals to be on display in cages. We do not allow the selling of animals at Car Boot Sales it is against the law. We do not allow TOMBOLA stall if you see one report it please. Geoff Where was Marge, Mo and GAGL and Ann? They said nothing, mind you it was at the top of the field! Bit hard for two of them!!
